Hardly A Mandate
I was one of the 8+ % of voters who bothered to vote in the primary on May 2nd. Since the State Board of Elections kicked my party off the ballot last August, I am now an unaffiliated voter. That gives me the "privilege" of voting in either of Caesar's approved party primaries. Well, thank you very much, massa! I try to be a good slave, yes sir!
Well, like a good slave, I went to cast my vote. At least they let you pick your ruler...God, it is wonderful that massa gives me such a long chain!
I chose the Republican primary to cast my lot, uh, I mean my vote. The only reason I bothered to go to the polls was to vote for Marlyn Burns. She came in last, (sigh). Now she knows how it feels to run as a Libertarian. Oh, I forgot, massa don't let Libertarians run for office no more. Stick to the principles of Liberty and get your ass kicked on Election Day. I cast my other two votes for Coy and Robert. At least they try to resemble fiscal conservatives.
I was sorry that Robert lost his seat. He truly is a good man. He will be missed. You won't hear me say that about a demopublican very often! Govco School Princess Grace won and took Robert's seat. Can you say higher taxes? Don't be surprised if granting taxing authority to the school board comes up. It's for the children, you know.
Nothing against the two Democrats in the commission race, but the election is over. The Republicans will win in November. Coy and four RINO's.
Coy, it's gonna be a long four years, my friend!

Take a look at this and you might change your "fiscal conservative" label for Coy and his acolytes

Good point, Justin. However in my post I said, "try to resemble fiscal conservatives" ;^). Of course, as a libertarian, my view of fiscal conservatism is quite different from Republican's. For instance, how could a fiscal conservative support the War On Drugs. That's kinda like supporting the War On Poverty or FDR's War On The "Freedom From Want, With A Chicken In Every Pot".
Thanks for your reply, Justin. We may disagree with the role of government, but I have a great deal of respect for you and your blog.

Thanks for the kind words about my blog (from which I'm taking a long, deserved break)
I enjoyed your classical example of Ignoratio Elenchi logical fallacy invoking the War on Drugs to throw me off.
I'm really curious as to the appeal of Coy. You see, most Coy voters I've encountered are dumber than a bag of hammers. Harold Smith is a great example. However, when someone who invests a lot of thought into the role of government votes for the two people who've contributed to the County expenditures outpacing County revenues - I'm sincerely curious has to how they come to that conclusion.

Now Justin, I wasn't trying to throw you off. I acknowledged your point. I was only comparing my view of fiscal conservatism to the status quo's. From my perspective, the Republicans who claim to be diehard fiscal conservatives turn around and support poring billions of tax dollars into the War On Drugs.
In hindsight, I should have only voted for Marlyn Burns. The rest of the field was made up of statists anyway. Not much of a choice really. Remember, if my party hadn't been kicked off the ballot, we would not be having this exchange.
